I really enjoyed Master Affinity for Sewing Pattern Alterations. It was a good class, and I learned a lot. The biggest win for me was all the shortcuts and practical tips. I can already tell they’re going to save me a ton of time when I’m working on patterns. I’m currently in the middle of making my bra pattern digital so I can tackle the next round of changes, and this class gave me a much clearer, faster way to work. Bonus: even though the focus is sewing pattern alterations, I also found myself using what I learned in Affinity’s Layout mode for the ASG newsletter I create. That alone made the class even more valuable. If you’re doing any kind of pattern work in Affinity and you want to speed up your process (and feel more confident while you’re at it), I’d absolutely recommend it.

I am so happy I found this course! I just started off with projector sewing and could do some basic adjustment, but not in the most convenient way. Now I feel like I can do all alterations more easily and very precise. This course is really complete, from going over the basics of Affinity, to transferring toile markings and examples of a lot of more advanced adjustments. The program is well thought through and the videos are very clear. Highly recommended!

I’ve been using Affinity for a few years, so this class was mainly an update to the newer version. I really enjoyed seeing alternative ways to digitally alter a pattern, and I appreciated Sheredith's teaching style.

I found the course to be well organized and each lesson built on the next! Despite having played in Affinity before, the course gave me a lot more information so that I can apply to many alterations beyond what you have shown. Obviously, there is a learning curve, however Sheredith helped shorten it significantly. I had pretty much given up on trying to alter with Affinity, but this course has made me hopeful that it is a skill that I can master. (...) Truly loved and learned tons from this course!

I signed up for the Affinity Designer help but the how to do the adjustments on paper first in each section helped it all fit together better than if it had only been shown in AD. The information is concise and thorough. There are a lot of streamlined ways to do the adjustments compared to the way I was doing them muddling through on my own. Sheredith talks through each step and even leaves in some oopsies that show how easy it’s is to correct as you go. I have much more confidence I can quickly make my digital adjustments and get to sewing after taking the course. This will be a resource I will go back to again and again.

Looking through 3 of my fitting books plus the notes from (at least 5) different online fitting courses, I found everything Sheredith taught us could be translated to every type of alteration (in my opinion). Even carrying out balancing a pattern and fish eye darts (Gina Renee's lessons) and Nancy Zieman's pivot and slide methods appear to be able to be accomplished with what we learned in Sheredith's course. The short videos which are to the point will make practicing methods easier. The lifetime access is really appreciated to carry us through in the long run and reinforce skills. There were times that things went too fast and were unclear, however because the program itself (like any other design program) has very small icons made focusing hard. I consider myself to be a real rookie at using Affinity, so I know things will get easier. For me, just rewatching, slowing the speed and taking detailed notes really helped! Because Sheredith has given us her recommendations to companies which have optimized projector files, this emphasis could likely advocate more companies to follow suit. Thank you for this! I loved the lesson in Unit 5 on transferring toile markings because this opens more opportunities to also work with patterns that are not projector files; ie I have many paper patterns that I'll be tracing and making into projector files, plus using toiles as patterns. I felt the progression of lessons with tasks to complete were well thought out and easily built on the skills. The only thing I can think of that I'd like to learn is measuring curves which would be beneficial to 'walk' patterns for sleeves/armholes, side seams and inseams and helping with balancing patterns; HOWEVER I would believe this could be accomplished while in the projection stage. I can't believe that I'm writing such a long review for such a short course, but I'm feeling my (maybe) 3 year delay to have time to take this online course quickly has me feeling very confident to tackle most any kind of alteration. I'm very happy to have taken this course, and completing it has me feeling that digital patterns alterations is not that hard. Sheredith, your common sense plus good sense of humor made this course so worth it and enjoyable! Thanks!

After buying my projector and getting it set up I had no of how to alter patterns with it. So I was limited in its use. So I started searching YouTube and found projector sewing . I was hesitant about spending the money but it has been well worth it. Everything is explained and shown clearly. I am really happy that I purchased this because it has eliminated me having to look all over YouTube for different videos and information. If you have a projector and you plan on using it for sewing you need to buy this course. I am still going through the course and I really like that I can come back to it if I need it. Thanks you for making this course because I was lost.
